TCN is proud to operate Christopher House, a 16-bed facility where residents participate in a Chemical Dependency Treatment Program based upon individual need but typically runs up to 60 days. Potential clients should attend one of TCN's Walk-In Clinics where eligibility will be determined. Christopher House is open to men over the age of 18 who need an intensive residential program to address their alcohol and/or chemical addiction. We specialize in clients who are dual-diagnosed (mental illness and chemical dependency).
Christopher House uses an eclectic approach to alcohol and drug treatment employing a combination of Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Reality Therapy, and elements of the 12-step Recovery Model. Clients are exposed to the local recovery community through 12-step meeting attendance as well as a variety of other therapeutic activities. Residents work through a level system including Orientation, Admission, Level 1, and Level 2, and are eligible for different privileges as they progress.
Christopher House programs include:
- Coping Skills Development
- Opioid Dependence Treatment using Suboxone
- Psychiatric Assessment
- Mental Health Counseling
- Relapse Prevention Education
- Family Education Group
- Access to GED education classes
- Access to Vocational counseling
- Case Management
- Therapeutic Recreational Outings
- Basic Life Skills Training
- Parenting Classes
TCN has a specially-designed step down group for Christopher House graduates. Each client will undergo a gradual step-down in services, determined on an individual basis. Close monitoring of each client is provided to ensure he has stable employment, appropriate housing and a strong, sober support system within the community.
The Christopher House staff will make efforts with local partners to find community housing after graduation. During this transitional period a graduate may not have a recovery-safe environment to call home. To meet this need, TCN operates Freedom Hill, a 5 bed transitional housing facility in walking distance from TCN's main Xenia campus. Residents can continue step-down treatment services while seeking employment.
TCN is pleased to offer additional services to help Christopher House graduates maintain their recovery. Our 24-Hour Crisis Hotline is available 365 days a year. TCN provides Case Management, administers Urine Drug Screens and works collaboratively with our client's referral source. TCN offers Individual and Group Counseling as well as Psychiatric Services.
